Read, Write, Repeat

It seems that I spend most of my time doing just that. Reading works, writing about them, having students read the works and write about them. Right now I'm in the whirlpool that is grading Term Papers. Research and Sequel Short Story papers. Woman Warrior and Frankenstein Papers.

Yet I seem to the typical procrastinator.
I pay my bills (read invoice, write the check).
I sort the recycling (read the contents page, make sure it's nothing I'll write about).
I read Facebook posts and write replies, or minimally like or emote.

I want to be writing here, all day. In fact, the bug has released it's juice and I'm learning a great deal.
I've been reading my writing. I know I'm telling more than I'm showing, but I'm trying to figure out which of the many stories I want to tell and how to frame which of these stories and give it layers with reflections of the same person, people or idea from a different level of understanding all at once.

I read, correct (write critical marks and remarks), and grade the papers. I still have six stacks of papers to grade. Must read, write and repeat the process with another class.

Meanwhile, I have to re-read my Mid-Term Exams and re-read the Common Core Standards to right the proper Common Core objective above each section of each of my assessments. Then I must re-write each of my Mid-Term Exams and write the Common Core Standards above each of the sections of my assessments (one teacher in my department told me her it took her two hours to do this task).

I did however take breaks for walking the dog(s), watching snippets of the Golden Globes, and stole a few hours to have dinner with my Mom and Stepdad.

But mostly today has been just that: read, write/correct/grade and repeat.

This week will be review week for my students and finish reading, writing and entering grades for me. Next week will be Exam week for my students and read, grade and enter grades for me.

Now you may read, write or not, and you mustn't repeat.

It was a dark and stormy night,
And the wind was blowing a gale,
And the Captain said to Antonio,
"Antonio, tell us a tale"!

Thus the tale began...
